Black Mom Entrepreneur Is Paving the Way for Other Women-Led Companies.

Monique Rodriguez is the founder and CEO of Mielle Organics. A skin and hair care company that uses natural ingredients to bring organic products to market. So, it was Rodriguez’s journey as a mother that inspired her to start Mielle Organics. After the loss of her infant son, she began to question her purpose. Also, her passion for beauty renewed after developing healthy hair products for personal use.

“Mielle Organics is a hair care and beauty brand that believes healthier ingredients encourage healthier hair and skin. As a result, our products and company provide healthier solutions for many men and women with kinkier and curlier hair”

Mielle Organics’ target audience is multicultural consumers between the ages of 18-40 searching for education about their hair types. As a matter of fact, health-conscious consumers want to learn to take care of their hair texture with natural ingredients.

The company plays in both the global natural hair care market. Hence, it is expected to reach $14.5 billion by 2026. And the global skincare market is expected to reach $200 billion that same year.

Consumer engagement

For Mielle Organics has changed: before the pandemic, most consumer engagement events were in person.

“When the pandemic affected those opportunities, we pivoted to connecting with our audience on social media, activating small business giveaways, and helping those who fell on hard times during the pandemic.”

Social good is a part of the company’s growth strategy.

Mielle Organics’ More Than A Strand philanthropic initiative includes $200,000 in scholarships for HBCU students. Also includes black-owned businesses and $1 million for their Mielle Mavens Entrepreneurship Fund.
