Letter of Resignation: Don’t Create a Negative Perception

The best way to prevent writer’s block when we sit down to write a letter of resignation is to read examples of these very letters to get our juices flowing. The objective is to always remain genuine and appreciative to all of those that have contributed to your professional journey and even to you personally from lessons you may have learned working alongside them. I hope that it lends to touching your heart in a way that you can reflect on the good and even great that your soon-to-be previous employer has provided, even if you hated the job. We should all look for the positive, even if it’s something relatively minimal during your time with this employer. We must all strive to leave things on a high note and follow the golden rule of never burning a bridge.

You never know whose path you may cross down the road and how things may come around. With that, swallow your pride if necessary and be the leader and the example of how you should show up. After all, 90% of life is perception hence perception becomes a reality. Never allow anyone to create a negative perception of you that becomes lip service. Always take the high road.
